IMCPL

With a collection of over 700,000 books and audio-visual materials in the 293-thousand-square-foot facility, the Central Library of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library System is a showpiece for the city of Indianapolis.

To help patrons expedite their checkout experience, IMCPL has selected the i-circ®  self-checkout system with multiple installations throughout the library that include the main checkout area in the atrium as well as wall-mounted kiosks on each of the six floors.

Combined with the fee-payment feature, patrons are able to pay fines and breeze through the checkout process. IMCPL uses the i-circ® self-checkout units at most of the 22 branches throughout the county.

“Centec has provided excellent customer support and has remained flexible in accommodating requests for evaluating suggested enhancements and changes to the software. They have also remained flexible in working with us to schedule updates during times that are least disruptive to our patrons. For minor software issues that require the vendor to be at the station to troubleshoot, they typically connect to the units remotely over the Internet. Responses for Help and Support are usually handled within the same day.”
